Anticipation

12-27-10 - Whew!  We dodged the bullet on the blizzard that hit the NE - Thank goodness!!  We have packed everything we could possibly think of for our dream adventure to Antarctica and the Rain Forest.  Trying to pack for the two extremes is not easy.  We have last minute lists to check and chores to do.
We leave tomorrow at 12:45 PM and head to Dallas.  After a short stop we fly overnight to Buenos Aires and then to our final destination of Ushuaia.  We will be joining 107 other passengers on board  the "Akademik Ioffee" which was built for the Russian Academy of Science and designed for Arctic/Antarctica acoustical research..  Our trip is with Quark Expeditions.  So exciting!!!
Since we will be on board for twenty days we are not sure how often we will be able to make it to a computer.  Hopefully, we will be able to write about our adventures on board the ship after we visit the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island, and the Antarctica Peninsula.  After going through the Drake Passage and back to Ushuaia we then fly to Buenos Aires to begin the second leg of our journey.  After spending the evening in Buenos Aires we fly to Iguazu Falls which is in the Rainforest of Argentina and Brazil.  Our lodge is in the middle of the Rainforest.
Can't wait until tomorrow.  It is time to bid you good night and finish those chores - Buenas Noches!!!!
